New Year, New You: Treat Yourself!

As we say goodbye to 2016 and welcome a new year, we get an opportunity to tackle that list of New Year’s Resolutions. Assuming you’ve already got the normal to-do’s on your list (exercise more, eat healthier, drink less, etc., etc.), why not also include treating yourself with a healthy new skin care regiment? Sure it can be considered “pampering”, but it’s all about giving your skin the proper maintenance it requires. You take your car in for service every few months, right? Doesn’t your skin deserve the same kind of treatment? Yes, it does. Here’s why…

By the time a woman reaches 30 years old, she will lose roughly 1.5 percent of the skin’s natural collagen. By the age of 40, that number goes up to fifteen percent! When collagen decreases, the skin becomes thinner, less elastic and supple. This is what leads to wrinkles, sagging, and a rougher texture.

The benefits to skin care maintenance cannot be underestimated. By incorporating a healthy skin care regiment into your routine, your skin will continue to look youthful, and better yet, those evasive corrective procedures will be limited. So this year, pamper yourself - even if it’s the kind of pampering you do at home when the kids are at school or away at a friend’s house. Treat yourself with the gift of relaxation and give your mind, body, and spirit the boost it needs every now and then to refresh.

Our line of collagen skin care products replaces lost collagen in the skin and can help reduce fine lines and wrinkles, promote smoother skin, restore elasticity, and keep the skin hydrated. For more information, please email or  give us a call!

Spa Splurge Collection introduces “Hygiene Holiday” Tradition

Shoppers are adding “Hygiene Holiday” to their list of observances this year. For each spa product purchased from luxury skincare label Spa Splurge Collection in November, a portion of proceeds is funneled toward the company’s holiday goal: to provide 3,000 hygiene kits to needy children worldwide. Each kit provides products for a week’s worth of showering and hand washing for two recipients.

“That means 6,000 children who may not have washed their hands will have the means to do so,” says Spa Splurge Collection CEO Alia Hosch. “Poor hygiene practices are linked to the spread of disease, so this holiday season, we’re asking consumers to give the gift of pampering and positive change.”

This shopping-heavy time presents an opportunity for Spa Splurge Collection to double their holiday donation of 1,500 kits from last year to Operation Christmas Child - a project of Samaritan's Purse, an organization that assists children globally. Their at-home spa experiences recently featured in Allure are all priced under $35 and offer decadent skincare gifts for mothers, sisters, teachers, coworkers and more. The most popular products are the Gold Collagen Eye Mask, which de-puffs and energizes the skin and the all new haute couture Black Lace Collagen Face Mask, which hydrates and softens skin while working to improve skin tone, brighten dull tired skin, and build elastin to firm and lift.

“Our luxury skincare is affordable and serves a double purpose because of our company philanthropy,” Hosch says.

Spa Splurge Collection products can be found in resorts and spas nationwide as well as their online site Visit the site to learn more about the high quality collagen masks & spa products as well as the company’s mission to help children receive the basic hygiene items necessary for a healthy lifestyle.

Happy Hygiene Holiday!

The Many Benefits of Collagen

When it comes to skincare, there are so many options it can make your head spin! At Spa Splurge Collection, we want to make it easy for our customers to choose the right product with ingredients that will truly make a difference. With that in mind, we believe in using innovative and cosmeceutical actives in our line of skin care products, one of which is collagen. Here we take a closer look at this miracle ingredient and its many benefits for the skin…

What is collagen?

Collagen is the main component of connective tissue and makes up a quarter of your body’s total protein content. It’s incredibly important to the human body as it lends itself to hair, bones, tendons, and internal organs and is what gives skin its structure, elasticity, and plumpness.

Why Your Skin Needs Collagen

By around the age of 30, your skin loses roughly 1.5 percent of its natural collagen stores, and by 40, it loses 15 percent! When you lose collagen, skin becomes thinner, less elastic and supple, which leads to wrinkles, sagging and a rougher texture.   By giving your skin a healthy dose of collagen, you slow the rate of depletion and can potentially reduce fine lines and wrinkles, promote smoother skin texture, help restore or maintain your skin’s elasticity, and keep the skin hydrated.

The Benefits of a Collagen Mask

While collagen can be found in foods like water-rich veggies, fish and soy, collagen masks have additional benefits that will help keep your skin looking youthful. For starters, a mask offers better penetration of active ingredients than other topical solutions. In addition, the drying action of a mask tightens the skin, making for an instant, though temporary, face lift. According to the cosmetics manufacturers at LAC Taut, “With regular application – about two to three times weekly - collagen masks can also help ward off skin-damaging free radicals and minimize the appearance of pores.”

National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an important time of year that helps bring awareness to this devastating disease and emphasizes the importance of early detection. Where there is pain, there is also hope. Check out the statistics below….

  • Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women and is the second leading cause of death among women.
  • One in eight women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime.
  • On average, a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer every two minutes, and every thirteen minutes, one women will die.
  • Each year, an estimated 246,660 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer and more than 40,000 will die.
  • Although rare, each year an estimated 2,600 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer and 440 will die.
  • There are over 2.8 million breast cancer survivors alive in the U.S. today.
  • When detected early (at the localized stage), the 5-year survival rate is 98%.

You can make a difference! Use the month of October as an opportunity to not only take action yourself, but to also spread the word about early detection plans and encourage your community, family members, coworkers, and friends to participate. Set up monthly reminders to do breast self-exams, talk to doctors about potential risk factors, schedule a mammogram (women 40 and older should have mammograms every 1 to 2 years), and educate yourself and others about breast cancer.                At Spa Splurge Collection, we are a women-owned and family-operated business and are proud of our ongoing efforts to support women who have been affected with cancer. Unlike any other product on the market, our Collagen Breast Masks relieve burns from radiation and heal the skin to reduce scarring post-mastectomy. A portion of every sale of one of these masks is donated back so that we may provide free products for women undergoing active cancer treatments.
